White belt female taps purple belt male in BJJ!

All across the globe Christmas is an event where families gather to share a traditional meal, talking, and just enjoying some quality time together. During the evening, if you are a true Jiujiteiro, you will probably be directing the conversation towards Jiu-Jitsu and about an hour after the meal, when relaxing on the couch with your loved ones, you will not be able to resist adjusting your grips, playfully improvising some chokes or switch between different foot locks.
However, once in a while, a close family member who has had to endure listening to your constant talk about Jiu-Jitsu simply won't have it anymore.

One such person was the spouse of a purple belt, who, after years of repeated exposure to her husband's playfulness, decided she had had it!

"I just had my feet resting in his lap when it started. Suddenly, my husband just fell back, and I felt how he went for my foot. It was an automatic reaction from my side."

She is referring to the inside heel hook, a powerful submission that if you tap too late, can create severe injury to your knee.

"I am a white belt, and I have never practiced heel hooks, but lately, my husband has been watching this instructional by a famous leg-locker. I guess I have picked up a thing or two just by observing him watching the instructional."

As you can see in the video, even the most unskilled can learn how to apply such a powerful technique as the inside heel hook and get the tap!

"I didn't really tap. I was just a verbal expression!" The husband later commented who by the way is a purple belt suggesting the video doesn't really show the whole picture.

Either way, this white belt tapping her purple belt husband implies that observational learning, which the American Psychological Association (APA) defines as acquiring information, skills, or behavior through watching others' performance, either directly or via such media as films and videos, is something that actually works.

It is also worth mentioning that nobody was injured and that the family kept on enjoying a Merry Christmas, wishing everybody happy holidays and a happy New Year!
